"No fancy columns or CSS." CSS is GOOD. It makes the website EASIER for search engines to parse, and doesn't harm your ranking at all. Columns don't mean jack shit to a search engine, other than the fact that how you do the coding of your columns makes different bits of text closer to the top of the page. "One excellent thing they have done is to put the Title of the page at the top - 'Enya - Only Time Lyrics' in white. This is a important thing as when search engine starts reading the page, that's the first phrase they read. People feels by keeping your keyphrases at the top, it gives you brownie points in the eyes of search engines (I am not very convinced though that it has huge role to play)" This is a big role in ranking, the closer to the top your keywords are, and the fewer words aside from them on the page, the better. Hiding them with white text on a white background, or text that's too light to read on a light background, etc. is basically considered keyword stuffing, and is generally not a good idea: you can find a way to impliment the same keywords, etc. without harming your design, it's not that difficult. Point 2 is valid. "Though there are '%20"' in url which may look ugly to normal eyes but to search engines, they just mean spaces which are perfectly alright. Though they could had used hash or underscores as well. Site is also using perfect meta keywords even though they are not pretty much ignored by search engines." Do NOT say that '%20' are alright. Google does not like those, in general. Hyphens are considered spaces by search engines, and should be the seperator in URL's. And yes, Meta Keywords are generally obsolete. point 4 is irrelivant. For Point 5 it's something to watch out for: many advertisers won't allow you to put text like that in the vicinity of their advertisements. Many just allow "Advertisement" or "Sponsor", etc. 6, of what I understood isn't so bad. Just be wary of putting too high a density of your keywords. 7's a pretty good idea, for the most part. 8 is keyword stuffing, and is something to be wary of. Dude, you don’t know what you’re talking about, why are you giving advice?

“No fancy columns or CSS.”
CSS is GOOD. It makes the website EASIER for search engines to parse, and doesn’t harm your ranking at all. Columns don’t mean jack shit to a search engine, other than the fact that how you do the coding of your columns makes different bits of text closer to the top of the page.

“One excellent thing they have done is to put the Title of the page at the top - ‘Enya - Only Time Lyrics’ in white. This is a important thing as when search engine starts reading the page, that’s the first phrase they read. People feels by keeping your keyphrases at the top, it gives you brownie points in the eyes of search engines (I am not very convinced though that it has huge role to play)”

“Though there are ‘%20″‘ in url which may look ugly to normal eyes but to search engines, they just mean spaces which are perfectly alright. Though they could had used hash or underscores as well. Do NOT say that ‘%20′ are alright. Google does not like those, in general. Hyphens are considered spaces by search engines, and should be the seperator in URL’s. And yes, Meta Keywords are generally obsolete.

point 4 is irrelivant.

For Point 5 it’s something to watch out for: many advertisers won’t allow you to put text like that in the vicinity of their advertisements. Many just allow “Advertisement” or “Sponsor”, etc.

I would love to continue this conversation. Anyway coming back to your observation - I never said that I am some kind of SEO specialist. I am just a programmer/webmaster who knows a thing or two about SEO (and honestly, there aren't too many thing in it anyway) As far as your points are concerned, I had never said CSS is Bad(Why will I?) I just said that if possible keep the design simple. May be I used wrong words which created confusion :) and ya, To me, SEO is alot more than getting your site on Top of serps, hence #4, even though it is irrelevant. I am still not sure that search engines don't like "% 20" and prefers underscores or hyphens theory. But ya, you should prefer underscore or hyphen over (on which we both are agreeing) because of clean url's Some Good Points made by you though :) Regards Thanks for the comments though it would had been nice if you had put your real email instead of dude@email.com.
