WP-Page Navi is another one of those simple, little plugins that add nifty, but very discreet features to your blog. It does one thing and boy, does it do it well :).

Basically, it adds more advanced page navigation your WordPress blog. Instead of a bottom navigation like:
« Previous entries • Next entries »
It will change this navigation section to:
Pages (17): [1] 2 3 4 » ... Last »

(look below at this blog's front home page as I am also using same plugin) :)

It’s something that most people won’t even notice, but will make an improvement to their experience if they’re browsing through your achieves, not to mention it is help exposing all your pages to search engines.

Installation is rather simple. First, open your wp-content/plugins folder. The upload the pagenavi folder from the file you downloaded and proceed to activate the WP-PageNavi Plugin from your administration panel.
Once the plugin has been activated, all you need to do is add the code into an actual template file. Open up wp-content/themes/your_theme/footer.php. Add the following code within the file:

Once that’s done, you need to go back to your Wordpress administration, go to options, click on PageNavi, and do the final configuration. Also, if you want to edit the CSS for the syle of the navigation, just open up /wp-content/plugins/pagenavi/pagenavi-css.css and make the nessicary changes so the look fits your template.

That’s it, nothing too complex to getting yourself up and running. If you do run into problems however, there is a great online support forum at http://forums.lesterchan.net/index.php?board=14.0. As I said, it’s something you’ll probably even forget you have active, but it is a plugin that does add an overall tangible benefit to your blog.
