Which Google Ad Unit Performs Best and Some Tips to make Google Ad Units Perform well on your Blog

for those people who might be wondering which adsense unit type should they use and which one performs well. It is commonly acknowledged(even google too) than 336x280 unit is the best performer for adsense.

The reason is fairly simple, it gets the maximum attention and with proper url color, you can make the links visible to regular ad blind visitors too. If336x280 is too big for you, you can also use 300x250 or 250x250. Here are few tips to make 336x280 performs best -

1. Try to get user attention to it asap. If possible, make sure the user sees it first. *Hint* My Blog *Hint*
2. Instead of trying to blend them, make them stand out a little.
3. Do Not use borders and put it as inline.

The second Google Adsense unit which performs best is Leaderboard of size 728x90.

728x90 is the other best performer. To get the maximum of it, use it at the top of the title of the post/page. I don't think they will do well at the bottom. So in short, use 728x90 at the top and 336x280 at the bottom and you should have a good combination.
