This is the second part of my earlier post and from this is where we will really start working on making money with google adsense. I am writing this article day by day basis with lots of tips on promoting your blog. I will advice you to read all 30 days once to get good idea of how to promote your blog. I have already covered most of the ways of how to find a good blog name, how to find a niche and how to write a good effective article with good title, so this post will only focus on getting traffic and promoting your blog. So let's start than.
Day 1 - Post your first post. Give a litle real info about yourself and be direct to the reading audience. Use first person language rather than third person as article written as third person gets very dull and becomes wiki like article. Now from the day 1 itself we are going to start promoting our blog. Install Stumbleupon plugin [If you have never heard about it than it is a good time to look at Stumbleupon and its wiki site for more info]. Register there and submit it. If its a technology related stuff than also submit it to digg and netscape. This is also a good time to register to atleast del.icio.us and reddit as I have seen these are the only two good social networking site which can give you genuine traffic. Register to them and submit the link.
One more thing, if you have not put google adsense yet on your blog, than do it right now. Edit the blogger template and insert the adsense code in it. If you have not registered to google adsense yet, than please register first.
Day 2 - Make your Second and possibly third post. Keep them different. In one of them, try to cover a news article or recent happening. Blog posts which covers recent news get good notice as they catch others attentions more easily. An article on Paris Hilton and how she is spending her time in jail is surely going to get you good traffic. Anyway now it's better if you also start promoting your blog by commenting on others blogs. Go to technorati and search related posts of your posts and comment on them. Make a comment in a way that you can put a link back to your posts. Try to put your comment in an argumentative way like I don't think so that this part of ... is true, if you see <your blog post> than you will find this...blah blah blah. You got the point, right ? keep stumbling the post as well
Day 3 - Make your next post(s). Keep repeating above procedures too. Remember one thing, Every promotion step that we are going to take, is meant for providing instant traffic. It's entire possible than each step may fetch you only 5 visitor/day but doing these steps everyday can easily make this figure as a substantial figure.You can also start posting comments in Digg. Again, Do not spam. You can post your link in the related current HOT topics or search for pages with 100+ diggs and than post your comments in it with your link. Once I had posted about one of my site in an old digg post with 2100+ diggs and even now I get traffic from it, daily 
Day 4 - Keep Posting and follow above steps. Websites forums and link dropping. Join webmaster forums like Digitalpoint, V7n, sitepoint and many other sites where you can post your website for review. This is a easy link getting technique. Although I will highly advice you to choose only those forum which is related to your site. I mean though you can put your sports related blog in these forums, why not post in some sports forum ? this will help you in getting quality traffic, not curiosity traffic. Also whenever possible, put your site in your signature area of any forums.
Day 5 - Keep Posting and follow above steps. In the webmaster forums that you have joined, they have rss option just below your name which displays your blog rss feed. So enter it in your forum profile. This can help you in getting few visitors. Also always keep your links in your forum signature if it is allowed. It is also a good time to submit your rss feed to feedburner and other such blog feed sites.
Day 6 - Keep Posting and follow above steps.. From now on, you will start interlinking to each of your posts. Give a back reference to one of your post quoting some part of it.
Day 7 - Keep Posting and follow above steps.. Keep repeating all the stuff which I have told till now of blog commenting, social bookmarking, digg/stumbe submission. The reason why I am so much emphasizing is that you can never get substantial organic traffic from search engines in such short duration of time, so you have to completely rely on non search engine traffic. Keep checking your google adsense stats and page views and any earning every day. If you want, you can install Google Analytics code to know from which page you are getting traffic. Honestly I don't think this will help you alot but still you
Day 8 - Keep Posting and follow above steps. Blogroll exchanges- Check webmaster forums like DigitalPoint, V7n, SitePoint and you may find possible link partner. Make sure you are only exchanging links for traffic, so ask them to keep your link as sitewide on some side top menu. Give him a good catchy title for your blog. You can also do some post exchange with bigger blogs which have traffic. One good idea is to write a 3 free posts with one of your link into them and ask people to post your content on there blogs. They will be getting free content and you will be getting free traffic.
Day 9 - Make friends and start posting your comments in there blogs. Also check DigitalPoint's Freebie section which is filled with Free stumble exchange threads. Join them and ask people to stumble your links with reviews.
Day 10 - Though not a big fan of article submission myself if you have free time, you can write a nice article and can submit to Ezine and GoArticles. These 2 sites do provide some traffic. If you want you can submit to few more good sites. Normally latest article remains on the front page for few hours, so this is the only chance of getting some instant traffic from such sits.
10 Day Review - By now you must have started getting some traffic. There is NO harm in installing Google Analytics from Day 0 to know how much traffic you are getting and which pages are getting traffic. If you do some calculation, if you earn $0.20 with each click and you get 5 clicks on every 100 page views, you will be needing around 500 page views daily. I can write alot on adsense positioning and how to get maximum out of it but not in this article. Just keep one thing in mind, while editing blogger template, put a 33xx280 block just below the top title of your post. Than put another 336x280 at the bottom. Use the same color link in adsense as are in your url. Stick with text ads rather than image ads.
This pretty much covers everything which I wanted to write. Of course there are tons of other stuff which I want to share but its not possible to fit into one article. I am also feeling tired after writing so much What I will do is I will keep on updating this article on timely basis and hope others to chip in with there suggestions.
Please repeat this procedure for the whole month. Be adaptable, if you find something is getting you traffic, than do it more than other. This whole thing is going to take time, daily 3 hours but I am sure when it gets over, you will be a satisfied person. Cheers
